Фильм Андрея Кончаловского «Дорогие товарищи!», выдвинутый на «Оскар» от России, включен в шорт-лист претендентов на получение премии в номинации «Лучший иностранный фильм». Всего туда попало 15 картин, которые обнародовала Американская киноакадемия. В их числе — «Еще по одной» (Дания), «Куда ты идешь, Аида?» (Босния), «Двое» (Франция), «Дети солнца» (Иран) и др.

В документальной номинации также представлена картина Виктора Косаковского «Гунда».

Окончательные номинанты будут объявлены 15 марта 2021 года, а церемония вручения премии пройдет 25 апреля.
